"Life has a way of making the foreseeable that which never happens,
and the unforeseeable that which your life becomes"

This is one of my favorite quotes mainly because of its truth. Our future as we saw it was not meant to be in South Africa as long as we have been, but this is what has become our life so far, and we have been having a blast. Even though both Jordan and I would really like to get going, we do feel that we've made the most of our time here, and thanks to the Backers and the other friends we've made here in Pretoria, it has been a great 18 days.
Sorry the updates have been somewhat scarce. The last few days have been pretty busy, but we've been taking pictures so hopefully they will make up for it.

Saturday we got the opportunity to go Zip-Lining through a small canyon or ravine of sorts, lots of fun and a great way to see some more of South Africa.

Saturday night Jordan and I went to the stadium which is just a couple of blocks from where we are staying with hopes of buying some tickets to watch Cameroon play Denmark. We ended up getting two tickets that were not next to each other but ended up finding seats with
a great view near the middle of the field.
On Sunday we went to a "Game Park" of sorts where they had a Lion feeding that we were able to see. There were all kinds of animals there, but the highlight was definitely the lion feeding and also being able to pet some lion cubs.

(look what we found in the gift shop)

Today, Monday, we spent some time working on my bike, cleaning the air filter, changing the fuel filter, and trying to figure out a rack system for carrying our bags on the back.

We phoned the mechanic once we got up and I was told that he would definitely get it finished today and we could likely pick it up in the afternoon, but he would call when it was ready. So by the afternoon, when we hadn't received a call yet, Jordan called to get an update, "oh, he is out on an emergency call, he will finish it tomorrow". This is the 5th emergency call that he's had when we've phoned them. So here is hoping that it will be ready tomorrow.

  1. looks like a fun start to the trip... even though it must be annoying that you don't actually get to start yet... so jealous you got to go to the cameroun game! that was an awesome game, though it would have been ten times better if we had won :) hope you get the other bike today!
