The last few days haven't been terribly busy. Jordan and I were able to find two bikes!! Both are Yamaha XT 350's and are in decent condition. They are also within our price range which was another bonus.
Both were in running condition, but on Thursday we took one of them to the mechanic and on Saturday we took the other one in. Oil was leaking from both and we will be getting new rings and valves inside the engine, as well as having a general check up on them. We are hoping to get at least one back today, maybe both, but we're not holding our breathe as you never know and timing hasn't been in our favor since starting this trip. So we're just remaining flexible and easy-going as most things are out of our hands right now.
Yesterday, we went to a small game park within Pretoria and got to see Ostrich, Zebras, Gazelle, and Wildebeest. It was a fun outing with the Backers (our
hosts), then we came home for a Braai (SA cook-out/bbq) and watching World Cup games on the TV.
Currently we're thinking about heading for Cape Town on Wednesday if things go as planned.
Everybody needs some good Backers. Way to go.
ReplyDeleteGood guys - take it easy on the bikes with new rings, (I guess that means piston rings) for the first day or so travelling.
